pug momma

This is what happened to yesterdays post:
It got fake-stepped on.

No for real, I got way into cleaning my room (for FOUR HOURS) and by the time I was done I just kinda passed out.

I hope the picture of me fake-stepping on my pug (with my filthy goddamn foot) will be adequate compensation. She's adorable, no?

Someone buy me season 4 of The Office. There's no punchline, I'm serious!

Have I mentioned that I have the best boyfriend ever? Well, I do. He just saved my computer-illiterate butt.

Anywhoo,
Breakfast:
Overnight oats! With chopped almonds, apple, raisins, cranberries, skim milk, honey and cinnamon
Before I left for school I had a banana with peanut butter. I didn't take a picture because I was in a super rush, but I assume you know what a banana and peanut butter look like.
I had an apple and a few whole wheat pretzels while waiting for one of my classes to start, but felt incredibly self-conscious about taking a picture of my food, so I didn't. I don't know why I felt so weird about it. Maybe I'll get over it soon.

When I got home I had a quick pre-gym snack:
A Chobani Greek Yogurt, sliced banana and a Wellbeing be-HOT Exercise Enhancing Turbopak (which I actually remembered to take a picture of)

I was craving bananas a lot today, but now I have a serious case of the sads because I don't have any for a smoothie tomorrow morning.

At the gym I ran on the treadmill for 45 minutes, I jogged 4.4 mph for about 5 minutes, but most of it was done at 5.6 mph. Yay me. I just bought the album Catalyst by New Found Glory (shut up, I know it came out in 2004) so I'm pretty sure that's what kept me on the treadmill (more like dreadmill, amiright guyz??) for so long. Then I went on the cross trainer for 20 minutes before heading to 15 minutes of Awesome Abs. My abdominal muscles certainly feel not-so-awesome at the moment.

Dinner:
Tuna salad and tuna on a whole wheat wrap with cheddar cheese, mustard, and a pickle.

What has two thumbs and has cereal for dessert?
I do, apparently.

Thursday, January 28, 2010

Oh god I have school tomorrow.

It's no secret that New York woke up to a ton of snow. So not only did I not get my hair cut, I didn't have time to go to the gym before I had to drive my dad to physical therapy. Sweet.

Onto breakfast!
(whole wheat pumpkin pancake with blueberries and honey)

Lunch!
(lentil soup with two saltines)

PUDDING  :O

Then I was hit with an extreme headache that kind of knocked me on my ass. Other than making me a miserable person, it made me nauseous enough not eat again until dinner:
(whole wheat pasta with roasted veggies and chickpeas)

Wanna know whats awesome? The package I got in the mail today:

Yessss Lush Cosmetics.

What's your problem, can't you see it and you go and blow it like everyone knows you will.

Breakfast:

(a banana, 2 teaspoons of instant coffee, two scoops of chocolate Metabolic Reset, a cup of ice, some skim milk and a teaspoon of peanut butter)
and a Wellbeing be-HOT Exercise Enhancing Turbopak

Workout for today was 1 hour and 30 minutes of kickboxing (I failed at making it through an entire second class, but no big deal)

Lunch:

Mixed salad, slice of whole wheat bread with tomato sauce, a slice of cheddar cheese, a slice of turkey, and sliced cherry tomatoes.

2 1/2 hours later I had some lentil soup.

I forgot to bring my camera to work sooo I'm recycling this one.

My dad had just gotten home from surgery so we ordered pizza:

I put salad and chopped cherry tomatoes on top of mine :)

I made smoothies for dessert:

I couldn't sleep because my stomach was growling so at 11:45-ish I had a small bowl of Special K, Fruit Loops and Cheerios (a palm full of each)

Farmageddon, let the light in.

I just realized I have no followers. Depressing.

Anyway, I go back to school Friday and I can't believe how fast winter break flew by. I'm looking forward to it because there's something about the Spring semester that is awesome, and I'm only going two days a week! Which means I only have 2 days of commuting to the city per week! *serious fistpump*
But... I hate the city (yes, the beloved New York City). I always have. I think I'm too anxious of a person to enjoy the city. I don't know why I assumed that going to a CUNY school would automatically  make me overcome my dislike for the city, or at least force me to tolerate it.

To me NYC is like dating a really obnoxious but incredibly attractive person. You try really really hard to love them and make it work but you want to hurl yourself off a bridge every time they come near you. And then you find out they were bangin' your best friend (dramatic!)

But I'll tolerate him for now because he is affordable and has a great masters program (heh).

Okay, enough of that.
We finally got bananas, and you know what that means!
Mothafuckin' smoothie time!!

(a banana, 2 teaspoons of instant coffee, two scoops of chocolate Metabolic Reset, a cup of ice, some skim milk and a teaspoon of peanut butter)
I also had a Wellbeing be-HOT Exercise Enhancing Turbopak)

My workout for today was 20 minutes on the cross-trainer, 20 minutes on the treadmill (jogging at 4.5 mph) and 1 hour of cardio pump (30 minutes of high & low impact cardio, 30 minutes of weight training)

When I got home I made this!

I mutilated a loaf of multigrain bread attempting to cut a slice soo... some pieces had peanut butter and honey, and one piece had tomato sauce, cheddar cheese, sliced turkey, and cherry tomatoes. And then a mixed salad with Lite French dressing and some Lite creamy cesar.

I made some oatmeal to eat at work

(Rolled oats, chopped apple, pumpkin puree, honey and cinnamon)

Dinner was...

   tuna salad! uhhhhhmazing.
I was starving 2 hours later so I had this:

Are you doing anything good for Valentines day? What should I get my significant other? I have no idea :( blehhhh.

Monday, January 25, 2010

I need to either stop wearing white t-shirts, or improve my hand-eye-chip-salsa coordination.

Ok, I was really busy yesterday so yesterdays post died, sorry guys.

Breakfast was this:
Chobani greek yogurt, a chopped apple and some peanut butter
A little while later I had some pulled pork and dirty rice

(my dad catered a New Orleans themed party and he brought home some leftovers)
And then my house lost power for about 2 1/2 hours!
Lauren and I went to Dunkin Donuts (because we still have coupons!)
we got a box of doughnuts
Which I cut up so we could have a little of each.
I had 4 small pieces

At work I had an apple (not pictured, sorry!)

and dinner was chinese food! Which I am currently regretting.
I also had a piece of an egg roll.

I ate really terribly today, but I'm not very surprised considering I'm expecting a visit from Aunt Flo soon.

Yeah, that was necessary.

Sunday, January 24, 2010

title hurr.

It's Saturday, and I'm a busy woman so this will be quick.

Breakfast!

(It's not really soup, I'm a liar)

Lunch!

and

snack?

Dinner!

*fistpump*

Friday, January 22, 2010

I was lying when I said I knew what a euphonium was.

I made overnight oats for the first time!
Last night I put oats in a bowl mixed with chopped almonds, apple, raisins, cranberries, and skim milk.
I covered it and let it sit overnight and in the morning I heated it and added some water, more chopped apples, honey and cinnamon:

It was seriously the best. I made it through my entire workout without getting hungry.

Speaking of which...my workout for today was 15 minutes of Awesome Abs (abdominal workout) 1 hour of multi-impact cardio and 1 hour of definitions (weight training).

For lunch I made Pinto Bean Burgers!  I stole the recipe from Heather:

They were AMAZING!

(I covered my with ketchup and mustard of course)

I ate a yogurt and a piece of whole wheat bread with peanut butter, honey and flaxseed at work:

When I got home I had some artichoke hummus and rice works sea salt chips

And dinner was some more pinto bean burger!

I put a small piece of cheese on two small pinto burgers, and put avocado, broccoli and baby spinach on top. I put all this on a slice of toasted whole wheat bread.

I was absolutely starving an hour later so I made this:

1/2 turkey burger, 1/2 bubba burger and some leftover mac&cheese with chicken and veggies.

I admit this isn't the best food choice I could have made but it was already in the fridge and all I had to do was pop it in the microwave.

Thursday, January 21, 2010

I think anyone who drives a car with an automatic transmission is a shiftless bastard.

Car jokes, heh.

I actually woke up at 5:15 this morning because I was so hungry I had trouble sleeping. So I munched an apple while watching Adult Swim and fell back asleep. Awesome.

I have to say that I am incredibly sore today, especially in my legs/thighs and abdomen. Yay kickboxing.
By the way, have I mentioned that I have a habit of accidentally punching myself in the face during kickboxing? I'm completely serious. When we're doing uppercut punches or speed bag motions (without the speed bag), I routinely hit myself in the face... because I'm a terribly klutz, obviously. Also, I get lazy/fatigued and then I start punching wrong.  I've never punched myself hard enough to really cause any damage but it's still a little silly.
Heh.
Anyway...
Breakfast today was a repeat of yesterdays second smoothie, except with a little more instant coffee:

(a banana, 2 teaspoons of instant coffee, two scoops of chocolate Metabolic Reset, a cup of ice, some skim milk and a teaspoon of peanut butter)

Lunch was a repeat of last nights dinner:

Except I put hot sauce on the mac&cheese. The hot sauce made it taste terrible so I actually only would up eating about half of it.

I made this wrap to bring to work:

(whole wheat wrap with artichoke hummus, two slices of turkey, some plain/drained tuna, mustard and baby spinach)
It was exquisite :)

My sister and I were feeling kinda hellbent on having Planet Wings so I attempted to order what I thought would be the "healthiest" thing that wasn't a salad (they use iceberg lettuce in their salads... ew)
So I got a grilled chicken wrap with lettuce, tomato and onion. It came with curly fries, but I resisted the urge to scarf all of them and only put about 1/4th of them on my plate. The rest I gave to Lauren. We also ordered some BBQ Teriyaki chicken wings, and I had two.

I pretty much mauled my wrap, it was pretty impressive.

smoothie time!

I decided today that I'm going to stop bullshitting myself with the assumption that healthy eating = weight loss. While eating healthy is certainly good, my real goal is to lose weight and I'm not getting anywhere eating a lot of calories worth of healthy food every day. I do great with the working out, but I really need to start restricting a bit. That's why I have a hard time losing weight in the first place, I'm all "ohh, I work out a lot so I can eat whatever", when most of the time I snack because I'm tired/bored/sitting around/just because and I don't watch my calorie intake as much as I should.

I'm in a smoothie kinda mood today (haay ladies)
With that in mind, breakfast was this:
(frozen blueberries, chobani greek yogurt, a banana and 1/2 cup of skim milk.)
I also had a Wellbeing be-HOT Exercise Enhancing Turbopak before heading to the gym.

My workout for today was a 30 minute jog with 5 two minute sprinting intervals, 20 minutes on the cross trainer and one hour of kickboxing. I actually felt pretty great and had a lot of energy, but my lower back was feeling very tight/achy from what I'm assuming was the level 3 30 day shred video.

I was in the mood for another smoothie at lunch so I made this masterpiece:
(a banana, a teaspoon of instant coffee, two scoops of chocolate Metabolic Reset, a cup of ice, some skim milk and a teaspoon of peanut butter)

I can not rave enough about Metabolic Reset (or this smoothie in general), I would drink this stuff every day if it wouldn't cause me to die a sweet low blood sugar death. Yessss.

I wasn't really hungry before work so I made a wrap to bring with me:
(whole wheat wrap with two slices of turkey, artichoke hummus, and baby spinach)
'Twas yummy.
My dad is still in Georgia so I assigned myself the task of making dinner for everyone.

I made not one...
but TWO
sexy ass pizzas.
(yes, that is a heart)

This was my plate:
(I also made mac&cheese with mixed veggies and chicken)

I also ate a few small handfuls of golden grahams cereal while watching King of the Hill with Johnny :)
(The only reason this is getting updated tonight is because he fell asleep)

I feel really good about what I ate today, and surprisingly I didn't feel deprived or sluggish at all.

'night!

Tuesday, January 19, 2010

I'm going drunken sledding. Minus the snow and sledding part.

I'm running out of 'interesting' ways to start my posts... bleh.
Breakfast was going to be a repeat of yesterday, and I started off well:

(rolled oats, mashed banana, pumpkin puree, peanut butter, honey, a spoonful of flaxseed, cinnamon)

I actually only had a few spoonfuls and then tossed the rest. I don't know if I added too much pumpkin or something but I just wasn't feeling it.

I did level 2 of the 30 Day Shred
and then had a different breakfast:

Last nights leftover pizza. Amazing even when re-heated.

Lunch was this:

(Turkey breast with tomato, broccoli, and baby spinach, topped with ranch and artichoke hummus)
I'm not going to lie, I ate about half of this sandwich and wanted to barf. I think it was the ranch.

I decided to try level 3 of the 30 Day shred because I'm a masochist, I guess.
That video, much like Teatown, is no joke. I routinely do very intense workouts, and when this video was done I laid on the floor and did not get up for a few minutes. I thought I died. BUT I feel very accomplished soo thank you *takes bow*.

I wanted to eat something before work so I grabbed a quick yogurt and added frozen blueberries!

and at work I had soup

I was on my own for dinner tonight so I made some quick tuna:
