Bacon Ranch Pringles, my three favorite things in one...well, they don't make Boobies Facebook Pringles but this is good enough.

It's hot! That's all I'm going to say about that.

Breakfast!
Smoothie (with frozen blueberries, 3 tablespoons yogurt, 1/2 cup skim milk and one scoop of Amazing Grass berry flavor drink powder)
 and
3/4 cup Raisin Bran with 1% milk

My workout for today was 30 minutes on the cross trainer, a 45 minute spin class and 1 hour of vinyasa yoga

Lunch:
Grapes, a whole wheat wrap (with brown rice, salsa, white beans and grilled chicken) and MORE SALSA :D

After work snack:
Banana!
and
One of the peanut butter cookies I made the other day. Superrrr.

Dinner:
and
Turkey burger on a whole wheat bun with fresh spinach, tomato, ketchup, avocado and bacon!
I'm not even going to try and kid myself, I love bacon. The only thing I love more than bacon is more bacon. It was amazing.

I just built a working catapult. It's designed as a chair, which tends to throw a lot of people.

Oh hellooooo! Long time no... food blog? Yeah.
I think the main reason I stopped food blogging for a bit was not only was it time consuming (and I am super lazy), but I was afraid of being pretentious. Or seeming pretentious. Which is crazy because I thoroughly enjoy  reading food blogs (especially Rebeccas, I read hers daily and enjoy it so much!) and think they are a fabulous concept. But I doubted my own food blogging, I guess. I think I have this person in my head that's constantly screaming WHO THE FUCK CARES and she's a pain in my ass.
WELL, I care about what I eat and I'm going to give this food blogging thing another go, and I hope I stick with it because it's a huge motivator and really helps me keep track of what I'm eating.

ANYWAY

I guess I should give a quick update?
-I've still been losing weight and I'm hovering around 140 now (typically between 139-142). I like the fact that it's taken me around 3 years to lose 43 pounds because I know I've done it through lifestyle changes that ensure I'm not going to gain it back.
-I started working out daily. I don't go all out every day but I feel that it's important to get my butt moving for at least an hour every day. Right now I'm logging around 8-13 hours a week at the gym, including non-aerobic classes like yoga and pilates.
-I start the Undergraduate program in Speech Disorders at Mercy College in the fall. WOO!
-I am being weaned off Metformin after taking it for 4 years. Which is a really big deal to me! That means I've managed my weight enough to have control over my PCOS symptoms.
Best
Thing
EVER.

ONTO FOOD!
Breakfast:
1 egg, 1 egg white, 1 medium tomato and 1/4 cup of oats with 1tsp of honey

More like BESTfast, amirite???

I then drank a gallon of coffee and headed off to the gym for 1 hour of kickboxing, 30 minutes on the cross-trainer and 30 minutes on the stair master.

Lunch:
Small whole wheat burrito (with black beans, brown rice, salsa, avocado and grilled chicken) lettuce and MORE SALSA (yay!)
I feel that shoving things I enjoy into a burrito is the best and easiest way to make a meal.

My after work snack:
It's a blurry nectarine because I absolutely could not get my camera to take a not awful picture (it was totally drinking Hennessy while I was at work) and I got fed up so there ya go.

Dinner!
Lasagna (made with whole wheat pasta, skim ricotta cheese, spinach, basil, garlic and tomato), garlic bread and some salad.

I should probably note that I began taking calcium and multivitamin supplements every day, although I won't be including pictures of them in my posts.

I believe that meat is murder. I also believe that fish is rape, bread is assault, and veggies are grand theft auto.

A few days ago something terrible happened...
Holy shit that's tragic :(
My smoothie maker kicked the bucket (and took others down with it... meaning my super amazing smoothie!)
But lucky for me I was able to get to Bed Bath and Beyond on sunday and get and awesome (and really inexpensive!) smoothie maker...
And I was able to have this for breakfast this morning!
This glorious smoothie was composed of a banana, 1 container of chobani greek yogurt, frozen strawberries, almond milk, and a scoop of vanilla Biochem Vegan Protein.
I woke up fairly early (and had breakfast pretty early) so I had a mid-morning munch:
Whole wheat veggie pizza. Try to not be too jealous.
I also had a Wellbeing be-HOT Exercise Enhancing Turbopak
My workout was 1 hour of step aerobics, 1 hour of definitions (weight training), and 2 miles on the treadmill at 5.1 mph.
Serious business.

Lunch:
Grilled chicken on a slice of whole wheat bread with tomato slices, lettuce and guacamole. I also had a slice of grilled potato.

Snack:
Green apple with peanut butter (peanut butter not pictured)

Dinner

Grilled chicken salad stuff!
I had some of this as a side:

It's some kind of cheesey pasta dish my mom made. I had about three bites and kinda wasn't into it. Oh well.

I also had two calcium chews because apparently I'm not getting nearly enough calcium.

So this morning I woke up and was all "holy shit dude, I'm going to be in college forever!". There is no punchline there whatsoever.

So woah, it's been a while.
I have to say that while I've been slacking as far as blogging is concerned, I've been doing just the same (if not even better) in terms of food and working out.

Breakfast was some leftover dinner from last night:
Whole wheat pasta with sun dried tomato sauce, roasted mushrooms, zucchini, eggplant, red and yellow peppers, asparagus, brussels sprouts and shrimp.

My workout for today was 45 minutes of Spinning (cycling class), and a 20 minute run on the treadmill.

Post-workout snack was a banana and a little bit of almond milk.

At work I had some hummus and carrot sticks, but I forgot my camera at home.
When I got home I had some more almond milk (that stuff is amazing)
Dinner:
Salad and tuna fish!

Dessert
Awesome peanut butter chocolate cookie my mom and sister made.

And then I did homework FOREVERR

I saw that PETA is protesting groundhog day because it's harmful to groundhogs, but come on... PETA is harmful to everyone.

So, woah at the snow!
I woke up this morning and saw this:
I think we've got about 8 inches of snow now. Good stuff.

Breakfast went something like this:
I don't care what the health nuts say, Bisquick biscuits with jelly are the bees knees.

Lunch was this:
Gardenburger veggie medley burger with cheddar cheese and tomato on a piece of a whole wheat wrap
Snack:
A piece of Lauren's leftover bacon egg and cheese

Then Lauren and I went outside and played forever
We went sledding for a while, walked up the hill to my neighbors to walk their dogs...
Oh... and we built a disturbing-looking snowman because I'm an asshole?
Terribly amusing, I know.
Christ I'm such an artist...

Anyway.
When we got inside we made some pizza!

And then I did some floor workouts for about 20 minutes.

Dinner:
Chicken soup!

Friday, February 5, 2010

I just bought seven mascaras from Sephora for $18, god bless america.

I had school today and I'm exhausted so this will be quick.
Breakfast
A little different today: made with one banana, 2 teaspoons of instant coffee, one scoop of chocolate Metabolic Reset, one scoop of strawberry Metabolic Reset, a cup of ice, some skim milk and a teaspoon of almond butter.

Lunch:
I love Amy's soups so much, and they were on sale at Mrs. Green's so I went kinda nuts.

I also made this:
Gardenburger veggie medley burger on Mestemacher Fitness Bread
with a slice of cheddar, lettuce and tomato.

I have to say something about this: this bread was straight up fuckery. It was so nasty ... It was dry, spongy, stiff and tasted like... something that doesn't belong in my mouth. SUPER DISAPPOINTMENT. I wound up throwing the bread away and eating the burger, cheese, lettuce and tomato with a knife and fork. Unnecessary.

On the train home I munched on some Happy Herbert's Zany Corn
This stuff is AMAZING. It's like corn nuts, but better. And I love corn nuts. If I ever find these in barbecue flavor I will be very happy (and incredibly obese, eventually).

Dinner was a repeat of last night:
Happinessssss

Thursday, February 4, 2010

I'm getting lazy with this.

And I'm so sick of winter.

Breakfast:
egg on half of a whole wheat wrap with cheddar cheese, a slice of turkey and sliced tomato
Snack:
Kettle Cooked potato chips

I had seriously been dying for some of these and after seriously contemplating their existence in my cabinet (thanks mom), I decided to get the fuck over it and have a small bowl. Worth it.
On my way home from the Endocrinologist (sarcastic yay) I stopped at Starbucks for a strawberry banana smoothie w/green tea.
Well... there was a smoothie in there at some point.

I was planning on working out after my appointment but by the time I got home it was nearly time for work. Woe.

Then I made this to eat at work:
Gardenburger veggie medley burger on a whole wheat wrap with tomato, ketchup, mustard and lettuce
Usually I'm really skeptical about overpriced veggie/vegan burgers but this was really really good and totally worth the money, just sayin.
Dinner:
Stuffed red pepper with some pasta on the side.
Most excellent.
